I made my very own lion ears with paper and a headband, and then I wanted a design where I could put my natural hair to use. My professor required us to incorporate 3 aspects of makeup design she had taught us prior to the midterm. (Elderly, stage blood, etc.)

MIDTERM-LIONESS

The hardest project of all--adding 3D latex pieces to our faces. I designed a bloody Minnie Mouse. There were different steps to this final project, including having a life size mask of our faces molded so we could practice our final projects with molding clay on it before doing the design on our faces.

FINAL- PROSTHETICS

On this week, my professor wanted us to simply explore and test our makeup kits and learn how to use certain materials and what they can do theatrically in the makeup world, such as liquid latex, highlights and shadows, stage blood, and spirit gum. Specifically, she wanted us to do a few exercises on our faces with highlights and shadows, and how to apply them. I even designed a unibrow for fun, which a lot of my friends loved. Haha!

CORRECTIVE MAKEUP

I took a Theatrical Makeup class at Foothill, and these were my projects.

Using highlights and shadows, we learned how to make wrinkles in the skin. We also learned how to whiten our hair to give the appearance of gray hair.

OLD AGE

Using stage blood was honestly one of the most epic things to learn in makeup class! We even learned how to make black eyes and blisters. Nose putty is used to blend into the skin with foundation, which is the start of making most cuts and sores.

Facial hair week was an interesting one. It takes a bit of layering work to make the beards and moustaches look more realistic.

CREATIVITY WEEK

This week my professor let us do whatever we wanted to explore our makeup kits. So I designed a makeup piece that displayed a love of mine, which is music--my face was a piano, and I also included yellow stars and red music notes.

Face Powder
