I have been doing Theatre since 3rd grade. It all started when I auditioned for the school play "Peter Pan", and landed my very first theatrical role--Curly, the Lost Boy. It was solely for fun, just to try acting out. It was then that I discovered a creative, stress-free outlet in Theatre--I can be myself around dorky, passionate people such as myself (people who don't judge my silly side and who love Theatre as much as I do) as well as discover sides to my emotions that I never knew I had. I love the way an entire group of people (technicians, actors, directors, playwrights, etc.) can gather together as a team and bring a story to life from a script. It is purely magical, and a hard-working yet rewarding experience like no other. Ever since "Peter Pan", I went on to audition for more plays and musicals throughout my elementary, middle school, and high school years. Despite all the Theatre I participated in,I originally entered De Anza College as a Music Major. However, my two biggest influences and mentors in changing to a Theatre Major were my two teachers--Mr. Reyes at Santa Clara High School, and Liz Stimson at De Anza College. Eventually, I transferred to Foothill College where I earned my Associates Degree in Theatre Arts with High Honors, and entered the most pivotal moment in my education where I expanded my knowledge in Theatre and different aspects that go into bringing a show to life--makeup, lights, sound, costumes, etc. Here, I met many phenomenal friends and had so many professors who increased my love for Theatre and reaffirmed why I chose this major in the first place--Tom Gough, Janis Bergmann, Milissa Carey, Lauri Smith, Bruce McLeod, Julie Engelbrecht. Before Foothill, I was in a bubble and assuming actors are the only ones that make a show possible. But the courses I took opened my eyes and expanded my mind.  One quarter at Foothill, I even had the opportunity of being Assistant Stage Manager for the play "She Kills Monsters" by Qui Nguyen. That experience of working on the other side of the stage opened my eyes to how Theatre magic really takes place! You can read more about my experiences in my resume as well as throughout this website. I am also a songwriter/musician/singer, and an author. Thank you so much for stopping by!
